Unlike the stock plastic gears or the cheap 3D printed gears, these precision machined aluminum bronze Syncro speedo drive gears will probably outlast the vehicle. Buy quality, buy once, and never have to worry about it again.

Available in the following ratios:

8/19 (equivalent to the stock white plastic gear)

8/20 (equivalent to the stock black plastic gear)

8/21 (equivalent to the stock red plastic gear)

Precision engineered aluminum-bronze gear to be bonded to your original drive shaft.

Currently available in the following ratios:

8/19 (equivalent to the stock white plastic gear)

8/20 (equivalent to the stock black plastic gear)

8/21 (equivalent to the stock red plastic gear)

Fitting notes:

Remove damaged plastic gear with a hacksaw or sharp knife (shaft is hardened) and remove all traces of plastic within the shaft knurling.

Degrease new pinion gear and pinion shaft with brake cleaner (not gasoline) and scrub with a clean brush.

Check that shaft fits easily into pinion gear bore and bottoms out.

Remove pinion shaft from the pinion gear, liberally coat shaft knurl and end with high Loctite 680 (provided) and fit back into the pinion gear.

Remove excess compound and allow to cure for 24 hours before refitting.

Caveats:

Proper degreasing is essential for a good bond between shaft and pinion.

*Owners should satisfy themselves that the speedo pinion gear is of the correct ratio before fitting since the driving worm wheels fitted to various differential units are of different diameters and will fail to mesh properly with the incorrect pinion gear. This will cause immediate or premature failure and will not be covered under any type o warranty*

Use of inferior or expired retaining compounds may result in the pinion slipping on the shaft.

*It is essential to check that the pinion shaft is free running inside its alloy bearing sleeve. If found to be tight, notchy or have a "digital" feel, the seal should be removed from the sleeve and the bore resized with a sharp 10.0mm reamer*
