Wheel Consultation Disclaimer
When doing wheel installation consultations, we generally don’t openly discuss the specific spacer or adapter thicknesses, specific stud/lug lengths, etc. One of the reasons for this is that selling the parts that we recommend is a big part of how we get paid. Over the years, many people have taken advantage of the free consultations to gather a list of parts, then shop elsewhere to find the cheapest possible parts. As much as we like helping people, we can’t offer our services for free, only to have the entire sale disappear after that fact.
Another reason for not divulging the specifics of the hardware is that we can’t guarantee the quality and fitment of the parts if a customer goes elsewhere. There are more nuances to the parts involved than most realize. There are so many low-quality parts on the market today that often give people trouble (many of them being offered by Vanagon-specific stores). If we put together a package of parts for a customer, we guarantee that those parts will work together as a package and that the wheel fitment will be correct and safe.
To be clear, the consultation is not a commitment to purchase anything. It’s just a consultation to provide you with the basic information about what parts are needed and the costs involved. That said, if you choose not to move forward with the purchase of the parts, that’s totally fine.
What the consultation does not provide are the specific details of the products as mentioned above. That part falls on our shoulders, and we guarantee that the package of parts that we recommend will work as intended. We’ve been doing this for many, many years. We know what works, and I know what doesn’t.
If you are good with all of that, I would love to work with you.
